MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL AND CHEERLEADERS ENJOY END OF SEASON PARTY

Both the NFC Middle School football and cheerleading squads enjoyed a night of pizza and fellowship in celebrating the end of the middle school football season Tuesday night, October 19th.  The Eagle Cafe' was adorned in red and black as the cheerleaders with assistance from Coach Ruta and several "football moms," decorated the cafeteria in Eagle spirit!  Thank you ladies for all of your hard work!  Both squads enjoyed pizza and sports drinks as parents proudly listened to the accomplishments of the season.  On behalf of the NFC Athletic Department, Football Program, and my coaches, I would like to personally thank all of our football and cheerleading parents for your continued support this season!  We had an outstanding year and we look forward to more great things next season - GO EAGLES!!!

EAGLES LOSE LAST GAME AGAINST HAVANA MIDDLE SCHOOL

The NFC middle school football team closed out the 2010 season on the road with a 32-0 loss to Havana Middle School.  The Eagles struggled from the very beginning by turning the ball over early and failed to stop Havana's high powered offense.  The Bears scored on their first possession and never looked back in cruising to an easy 26-0 halftime lead.

The Eagles threatened only a couple of times but again turnovers and missed tackles led to a tough last game and a second consectutive shutout.

NFC MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAMS LOSE TO FL HIGH

Both middle school football teams dropped both football games to FL High on Tuesday, October 5th.  The 6th and 7th grade team faced a tough Seminole team and fought hard before falling 34-14.  The Baby Eagles were led again by the impressive running of Ja'Various Harrison as he led the Baby Eagles to their first scoring drive of the season.  Quarterback Alex Gonzalez got the nod and did the honors as he scored the first points on the season on a quarterback sneak.  The second touchdown of the year was again sparked by Harrison as he took a handoff and caught the Seminole defense completely sleeping by lofting a pass to a wide-open Chase Savary for an Eagle touchdown.  Gonzalez then connected with fullback Nolan Kelly for the two-point conversion that closed the gap to 34-14.  Other players contributing to the Eagle drives were tight end Jacob Wynn, offensive linemen JD Gardner, Marshall Hilaman, Chris Hannah, Austin Hinkle, Micah Biddle, and Austin Stinson.

Both NFC middle school teams lost tough games to Maclay last Tuesday night.  The 6th and 7th graders were sparked by the running of Ja'various Harrison but still fell to the Baby Marauders.  The Baby Eagles next play at Florida High in the last game of the season on Tuesday, October 5th.

The 7th and 8th graders also lost a tough game to the Marauders as the Eagles fought hard but still came up short.  The Eagles were lead by 8th grader Austin Tuggerson's outstanding performance at running back.  Tuggerson lead the Eagles in rushing and returned a kickoff for a touchdown before leaving the game late in the fourth quarter with an injury.  NFC next plays at Florida High on Tuesday, October 5th at 6:00 PM.
